The Bohuslav Martinů Complete Edition
(Souborné kritické vydání díla Bohuslava Martinů) is the most significant long-term editorial project of the Bohuslav Martinů Institute. It is produced with the financial support of the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation in Prague, the Martinů Stiftung in Basel, the Czech Science Foundation (GAČR), and the State Cultural Fund of the Czech Republic, in collaboration with the Bärenreiter Praha publishing house. The first volumes of this international project were published in 2014.
This is a historical-critical edition of musical works based on the rigorous study and comparison of all available sources, including manuscripts, printed materials, and archival documents.
The edition is intended for both musicological research and performance practice, and it is prepared according to the latest critical-textual and philological methods. Conceived as a long-term project, it gradually makes individual parts of the composer’s oeuvre accessible to the public.
